Nature Equity is the data controller for information submitted through this website.

What we collect

When you request a baseline assessment we collect your name, email, optional phone number and organisation, details of the site, and any boundary file you upload.

When you vote we collect your name, email address, optional company, county and urban choices, and any optional landscape photo and description. Your email is used to limit voting to one county and one urban choice. Only combined vote counts are public; voter details stay private. Photos remain private unless you give permission for publication and Nature Equity approves them. Approved photos and descriptions may appear in county galleries, without your name, email or company.

How we use it

To respond to assessment requests, record votes and compile public voting totals. We do not sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.

Storage and access

Requests and uploaded files are stored securely and can only be accessed by authorised Nature Equity staff.

For the private submitted-sites map, staff may look up the UK postcode you supplied using Postcodes.io. Only the postcode is sent for this lookup, not your name, email or full site description. Uploaded GeoJSON boundaries are read privately by authorised staff.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may ask to access, correct or delete your data. Contact Nature Equity to make a request.
